Saphiryad

It was conveniently located near entrance to the Medina and well-placed signs helped direct to its location which otherwise would have been difficult to find since Google Maps didn’t point to correct location. The breakfast was very nice traditional and copious Moroccan breakfast. I stayed for 3 nights and breakfast changed slightly each morning. Medhi, the manager, was very hospitable and helpful and always responded promptly when I needed or asked for something. I didn’t see any other guests there during my stay and it felt like having a Moorish Riad all to myself. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable.

Everything was amazing. Medhi truly is a great host, very attentive to any need and willing to help with bookings and recommendations. The structure, apart from being beautiful, also has an amazing position, just outside the medina and behind the main street full of restaurants and shops - great for dining in the evening when it's probably better not to get inside the medina alone. Thank you very much for making our first visit to Morocco so great!

Mehdi was an excellent host—very helpful and always available when we needed anything. The location is perfect, right next to the Medina, making it easy to explore the city. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was especially spacious. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful riad, very clean. Good location. Amazing and generous breakfast

Riad Saphiryad can be found in a quiet but convenient corner of the medina. Located in a beautifully traditional Moroccan building, the riad was clean and comfortable (though Moroccan mattresses seem to be a little too hard for our European backs!). The staff was extremely helpful - Mehdi went above and beyond, picking us up from the main road on our late arrival, preparing two takeaway breakfasts for us on our travel days, booked taxis and communicated typical taxi fares for tourists so we had a useful reference. He was also reachable via WhatsApp even late in the evening. As it was a quiet week for the riad, he even gave us flexibility to choose our preferred room on arrival. Breakfast was sufficient though some more fresh items (e.g. fruit) would have been a great addition.

I had a fabulous stay at Saphiryad. A last-minute opportunity came up to visit Morocco and with a great value flight booked, Saphiryad was available and new to booking.com, offering the authentic Moroccan experience I was looking for and in the right location. It didn’t disappoint, offering a beautifully presented bedroom with all the facilities. Really friendly staff making sure I had everything I needed. Before heading out the following morning to check out what Fes/Fez has to offer, I had a super breakfast - Natural Yoghurt, fresh fruit and a few cups of Moroccan strength coffee which set me up for the day ahead.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Saphiryad. The location is absolutely unbeatable — tucked deep in Fès el-Bali, it is peaceful yet perfectly placed for exploring the medina. The riad’s atmosphere is charming and calm, a lovely retreat after wandering the busy streets. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The receptionist offered great tips for places to visit and restaurants, and I even met the owner who was warm and welcoming. The room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged with everything I needed: air conditioning, free WiFi, and a cozy seating area. I also enjoyed relaxing on the terrace and strolling through the charming courtyard and hallways of the guesthouse. Breakfast was tasty and varied, and the shared kitchen and outdoor seating made it easy to relax and unwind. All in all, Saphiryad is a gem in Fès — I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience authentic Moroccan hospitality in a peaceful and convenient setting. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Fès.

This Riad was amazing—super well located in the heart of the medina. The receptionist was incredibly kind and helpful, offering great tips and guidance throughout our stay. We even met the owner one morning, who was so nice and welcoming. The atmosphere was authentic, peaceful, and full of charm. No complaints at all—I’ll definitely be coming back!
